So I have really gotten behind on keeping up with the blog. We have had a lot going on. We recently sold James’ truck so that we could get something a little more car seat friendly. We were able to sell it in about 4 days and actually got what we wanted out of it, so that really helped. We are looking at probably getting a smaller SUV of some sort. It is nice to at least have the truck gone and it checked off the list.
We were also looking at moving out of our little apartment, but have decided to stay for a year. We have an extra bedroom that can be for the babies, we will just need to get some kind of storage unit to put the stuff that is currently being stored in that room. Since they won’t be mobile for the first year we should be just fine. We will just have to make sure the dog is able to get out on walks frequently, which definitely won’t hurt us as well. I am thinking we are probably going to be spending a lot of time at home anyways, so it will be needed to get us out of the house as well. Luckily the babies will be coming right at the beginning of summer, it will be perfect!
Well I am finally starting to feel Aiden and Averie kicking me! I first felt it about 2 ½ weeks ago. I was out at dinner at the Olive Garden with a girl friend and in mid conversation I got a big kick in the side. It was so exciting that I interrupted her talking to tell her. From then on, I have been feeling them A LOT. I kept complaining that I wasn’t feeling them and now I am feeling them all the time. I absolutely love it, it is just so great to know they are in there and doing great. I am sure it will start to get painful as everyone says, but it is definitely my favorite thing right now. Poor James has still not felt them. Every time I tell him to try to feel them they stop. I think they get shy J I know it will happen soon!
We had a doctor’s appointment on Friday. Everything looked great as it has been. Averie was measuring at 1 lb 2 oz and Aiden at 1 lb. 1 oz. They were both still a boy and a girl! They are growing right on schedule and very evenly, which I couldn’t be happier about. I just don’t know how I am going to get another 8ish lbs in my belly J I have already been told on a couple of occasions that I look about 7 months pregnant and I am only 5 ½. As always, I could care less as long as they are growing well. My blood pressure was a little bit high so they did want me to keep an eye on that, so I will be, but other than that nothing out of the ordinary.
Last weekend, my parents came over from Spokane. My dad built us a new bed, which is absolutely awesome, and brought it over. It fits perfectly in our bedroom and just makes the room so comfortable. The weather was gorgeous, so we went down to the Seattle waterfront and walked around for hours and had some dinner. It was beautiful. The next day we walked around the mall, my mom and I went through every baby store we saw just to look at all the cute stuff. Just looking at stuff got us both so excited! We then went and had a great dinner down in Tacoma with James’ parents and brother. It was nice to get the in-laws together during this exciting time.
This week, we made our first big purchase for the twins. We bought our double stroller! Having that in the back of my car really made this all feel real and made us understand how close we are really getting to the arrival of our new family members. It will be so weird, but so awesome when we actually put them in the stroller for the first time. Just a couple more months!!
Here are a few new pictures:
